Our Baptist General Conference missionaries assigned to the West African Nation of Cameroon are working in Cooperation with the Cameroon Baptist Convention, ministering to both the spiritual and physical needs of the nation.

Training Church Leaders
Gary and Ruth Stephens are training men and women for effective ministry as Pastors and lay leaders for African churches. Based in the Northwest Province town of Ndu, Gary is the academic dean of the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary where he also teaches. Ruth works with the women as a counselor and teacher, and also coordinates a program for the children of the seminary students.

Starting Churches among unreached peoples
Two couples are now working with an unreached people group called the Fulani. Doug and Stephanie Lewis are in their second term of ministry to the Fulani, Muslim cattle herders. Doug, a vet, manages a veterinary clinic, a friendly place of contact with this nomadic people. This is an excellent entry point ministry among these tribal peoples.

John and Gala Dallmann have built a home among the Fulani in another region of the country. John is a water engineer, and each year helps numerous communities dig wells that provide safe, clean water. In each area where a well is dug, the JESUS film is shown. This has provided an openness to the gospel and many new contacts. A Muslim believer, just finishing Bible school, will be joining the Dallmanns as they seek to lead many Fulani to faith in Christ.

Thom and Ellen Schotanus will join the team to help the medical board maintain hospital and clinic facilities and supervise the construction of new facilities. They will also be active in discipling ministries, and manage some of the hospitality needs at one of the mission stations.

Pray that God will encourage all of these missionary families in their ministries in Cameroon, and pray for more missionaries to join them.

Join the Team!
Our missionary staff in Cameroon has declined due to retirements in recent years. At the same time , there are new doors of opportunity. We need to enlarge the team! If God has burdened you or someone you know with reaching the unreached peoples of Africa, call Curt Hansen at 1-800-323-4215.
